W poniedziałek 14 sierpnia 2023, w ramach 16. edycji Nocy Cracovia Sacra, Muzeum Archidiecezjalne Kardynała Karola Wojtyły w Krakowie zaprasza na czasową ekspozycję szat liturgicznych pochodzących z kolekcji Muzeum.

Chociaż zaprezentowane obiekty wpisują się w różne okresy – od wieku XV do początku XX, zgodnie z tematem przewodnim tegorocznej Nocy Cracovia Sacra, jakim jest Symbolika roślinna w sztuce sakralnej, łączą je bogate w swojej formie i warstwie symbolicznej, barwne motywy roślinne wśród których odnaleźć możemy owoce granatu, goździki, lilie, kwiaty passiflory czy oset. Na ekspozycji znajdą się m.in. przykłady tkanin francuskich, włoskich czy tureckich, które używane były w kościołach Archidiecezji Krakowskiej.

Ekspozycję będzie można oglądać w dniach 14 sierpnia – 19 września 2023 w godzinach otwarcia Muzeum Archidiecezjalnego (10:00-17:00, ostatnie wejście o 16:15).

W dniach 15 i 16 sierpnia Muzeum Archidiecezjalne w Krakowie będzie nieczynne.

On Monday 14th August 2023, as a part of the 16^th edition of the Cracovia Sacra Night, the Archdiocesan Museum of Cardinal Karol Wojtyła in Cracow would like to invite all visitors to the temporary exhibition of the liturgical vestments from the Museum’s collection.

While the presented objects belongs to different eras – from 15^th century to the early 20^th century, they are all connected by the theme of this year’s Cracovia Sacra Night (Floral symbolism in sacred art). As such, they are richly decorated in colourful floral motifs full of symbolical meanings, including the pomegranate, carnation, lily, passiflora or thistle. Some of the exhibited liturgical vestments are the examples of French, Italian or Turkish textiles, and served the liturgy in the churches of the Archdiocese of Cracow.

The temporary exhibition will be open to visitors from 14^th August to 19^th September 2023 during the Archdiocesan Museum’s opening hours (10:00-17:00, last entry at 16:15).

On 15^th and 16^th August the Archdiocesan Museum in Cracow will be closed.
